Narrow Backyard Makeover in Jersey City

In the city, every square foot counts. This Jersey City backyard was more weeds and bare soil than grass, sat on compacted fill and could only be reached through narrow side walkways.

We cleared the old turf, weeds and debris and leveled the yard. Fresh sod came from a nearby New Jersey farm, staged on the driveway and moved in efficiently without disrupting the neighbors. Because of the yard's narrow shape and tight corners, the crew made precision cuts so every roll fit with no waste and no visible seams, then rolled and soaked the new lawn.

What had been wasted space is now a private green retreat along the fence line, with a simple watering and mowing plan to keep it that way.
